Work starts on UPS in Lviv clinic

Since the end of 2023, we have been planning the installation of an uninterruptible power supply (#UPS) for the CT scanner at St Nicholas Hospital in #Lviv with the support of the #ElseKrönerFresenius Foundation. Although the hospital has an emergency power supply, unplanned shutdowns have repeatedly damaged the electronics in the CT scanner. The UPS is basically a large battery system (for fans: 150kVA) that switches on at lightning speed in the event of a #power outage and maintains power until the #emergency power generators are running stably. Cost: around €35,000.  The device requires its own air conditioning system, which is why the installation of this device, as seen here, is the first real construction measure of the project.
